Kind Earth.Tech is a privatly-funded non-profit organization looking to create a change through innovation within the “new protein” industry. They work together with people from all over the industry to start up conversations and grow the knowledge within the industry. They wanted to design a website which they could use to present their cause and to promote their activities and events.
Up first was the logo. The people at Kind Earth.Tech already had some idea’s, but it needed to be put into context.
The people at KET already had an idea about how they wanted their logo to look, but they didn’t have anyone that could contextualize, implement and digitalise it.
Two very similar logo’s had to be made. One for general use, and another that is mainly used within the context of their events. Their concepts for the logo’s were text based. The idea was to keep it simple, but strong and outspoken, which is something that I needed to achieve through the font.
For their website, the people at KET did have a general style in mind. Whilst hearing them out I sketched some idea’s to help them formulate their wants and needs. They didn’t want anything too out there, just a simple overview and not too many unnecessary effects. It just needed a clean, futureproof look that mainly used their own images to add interest to the pages.
After getting the sketches approved I went on to creating the website.
Because of the idea of using their own images as focal point, we had decided on using a big image as the forefront of the website, where we could specifically focus the attention to the middle of the page where the goals of the company would be displayed.
There was also still the challenge of creating their ‘Food Maps’. Together with the team at Kind Earth. Tech I worked on collecting the data, sorting it and creating the different diagrams for the food maps.
Lastly, I assisted KET at their 2022 event at NEMO Amsterdam. For this event I compiled all the presentations of the different speakers. At the event itself I worked as a technical assistant, working the presentations and fixing any issues with them if they arose.
